Shirley Bryant
Shirley is involved in many community organizations. She is the co-facilitator of CAPS Beat 611, Chair of the 6th Police District Scholarship Committee, board member of the Target Area Development Corporation, and co-chair of the Seniors Corner for the 79th Street Festival. Shirley has been a member of the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for six years.
Steve Casey, Vice Chairperson
Steve is affiliated with numerous civic organizations including the Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League, Co-Founder for the National Urban League Young Professionals, a member of African Americans in Philanthropy, and the co-facilitator for his local CAPS Beat meeting. He was also a German Marshall Fellow in 2004. Steve is a homeowner and property owner in the neighborhood and has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for eight years.
Alice Duncan
Alice has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for five years. She is also a very active member of her Church, Grant Memorial AME.
Renee Estes
Renee is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and has been working with the Chicago Public Schools for over 15 years. Since 2007, she has been an active member of the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council. Her community involvement includes participating in her local CAPS Beat meetings.
DeAndre Estes
DeAndre has been a member of the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Board since 2007. His involvement in the community includes participating in CAPS. DeAndre works as a Project Management Professional with numerous Fortune 100 companies.
Renee and DeAndre purchased their bungalow in Auburn Gresham in 2005 and subsequently joined the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council.
Camille Garrett
Camille represents State Farm Insurance and has been working with NHS for over 15 years. She has been a member of the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council since 2009. Camille believes in serving her community and is active in various organization, including the West Chesterfield Community Association and the Chatham Business Association.
Gerald Goodlow, Secretary
Gerald has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for nine years and has been the Secretary for six years. He is our “resident realtor” and provides the Council and staff with important information on property values, comps, sales listings and foreclosures. Gerald was the recipient of the 2009 NHS Neighborhood Leadership Award.
James Lackland
James has represented Community Investment Corporation on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council since its inception. James also serves as President of the Board of Directors for High Spirit, a scholarship and mentoring program for high school students. James was responsible for marketing and implementing a three-year initiative that provided financing to developers in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham community.
Juanita Love
Juanita purchased her home in the Auburn Gresham community 40 years ago. She loves to garden and work with children in her church and community. She is very active with CAPS and has been President of her block club for over 30 years. Juanita has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council since its inception in 1997.
Keecha McCalebb
Keecha represents CitiBank and has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for three years. She is skilled at educating others on banking products and recommending best options that meet their short-term and long-term needs. Keecha also volunteers with Perspectives Charter School in Auburn Gresham as a Mentor for high school students.
Carlos Nelson
Carlos is the Executive Director of the Greater Auburn Gresham Community Development Corporation, staffs the 17th Ward Community Redevelopment Advisory Council and is Manager of the Special Service Area #32. He has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for seven years.
Amanda Norman
Amanda has been a member of the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council since its inception in 1997. She also serves on the Board of the Greater Auburn Gresham CDC and is a member of the 17th Ward Redevelopment Council and President of her block club since 1995.
Betty Jo Swanson, Chairperson
Betty has been a staple around Auburn Gresham for more than 40 years. She has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council since its inception and as its Chairperson for the past 11 years. She also serves on the Board of Directors of NHS of Chicago. Betty serves on the Board of the Greater Auburn Gresham CDC, Co-Chairperson for the 6th District Advisory Council and is co-facilitator for CAPS Beat 612. Betty is also the President of her block club.
Paul Thompson
Paul has served on the NHS Neighborhood Advisory Council for seven years.
